Hi everyone, again it seems a while since I blogged but we have had an interesting time at www.deb-soap.co.uk . It appears that we were listed on moneysavingexpert.com as having some free stuff to give away. Well we did, but unfortunately it was meant for commercial premises only. After receiving loads of emails off people wanting free samples, we were caught completeley unawares. We have started emailing people to let them know that a misunderstanding had taken place…but then we thought one of our sister sites could help out.

Whilst www.cleaningproducts.co.uk is also a commercial site they have created a page called Home and Garden at http://www.cleaningproducts.co.uk/home_and_garden.htm where they have put together loads of special offers directed at households including some free samples that will go out with the offers. We are going to contact every one who applied for the free stuff just once to let them know about the page and they will be able to sign up for more free offers but if they dont want more offers they can rest assured we will destroy their details and wont be making the list available to anyone else. Meltblown Wipe

Hi, we had a chemical manufacturer call us today asking about absorbant wipes. They have been using cotton rags to wipe up minor spillages in the labs, however a Health and Safety meeting pointed out that some of the concentrates could cause some unwanted effects such as the rags catching fire once they are discarded due to the oxidising nature of some of the chemicals they use, also the rags are variable in size and can be cumbersome to use.
They asked what we recommended. So I pointed them to http://www.cleaningproducts.co.uk/rags_&_wipes.htm , due to the selection of Wypeaways which are a specialist range of wipes for several different industries and uses. Not knowing the chemicals they use, the people at the Janitor Ltd have sent them some samples for them to try.
It occurred to me that I should point out that the guys at the Janitor Ltd will send samples out for most things if you really arent sure whether it will be right for the job. There is nothing worse than buying a load of stuff thats not quite right for what you want and I think they understand that at the Janitor. Hope you are having fun in the snow,    Janitor Joe.

The reason it was interesting was that they had spent a lot of money getting the drains surveyed by a camera and found no blockages whatsoever. I had a look at it today and found that two out of three sets of toilets have 6″ soil pipes and they lead to the other set of toilets that only have a 4″ soil pipe as a runaway to the main drain, this means that if there are several toilets flushed at the same time this could easily over flow the toilets. However it seems that it may be even more problematic because they are using a good quality toilet paper manufactured by a well known company. However, with the extra quality comes the extra strength and the paper does not break down very quickly at all. This makes the situation worse at the 4″ bottleneck .
I have recommended that they switch to Bay West toilet paper because it is still high quality but it is designed to break down very rapidly and generally leads to far fewer blockages ( www.bay-west.co.uk ).
Also I noticed in the nursery toilets the cisterns supplying the water to the WC Pans were huge, possibly up to 15 litres each. So I suggested that they use a water saving device such as the Hippo ( Normally you can get these free from the local water authority- but you will have to check first) - The Hippo is a plastic bag designed to take up to a litre of water from each flush or even a house brick sealed inside a polythene bag..also about a litre. 

The Bay west paper is  more economical than the current paper and the water saving means they will save water and save on water rates and save on having the drain company out, all in all a good visit.
